We are putting our house up for sale. I created a blog with pictures, so if you know anyone who is interested, send them my way. 6 months ago we were renting our basement apartment for $725/mo utilities included. It would be ideal for a newly married couple or perhaps an older couple as there are 2 bedrooms upstairs. The rent paid about half of our mortgage every month, and there are also perks at tax time as your home is considered half business. There are quite a few things you can write off.
